PP degradable modification

Degradation‑Modified PP Plastic

Degradation‑modified PP features a trigger‑type degradation mechanism. The material keeps stable performance during normal service and storage. Once discarded and exposed to specific environments such as light, high temperature, oxygen or metal ions in soil, additives will catalyze the cleavage of PP molecular chains. The material is first oxidatively degraded into low‑molecular‑weight fragments and further biodegraded by microorganisms into water and carbon dioxide. This modification method can well retain PP’s original physical‑mechanical properties and processability. Meanwhile, the induction period of degradation can be customized to strike a balance between material performance and environmental‑friendliness.

Main Applications of Degradation‑Modified PP

Disposable Packaging Materials: Mainly used for disposable food containers, food vessels, bottle caps, daily‑chemical packaging and express‑delivery bags, realizing controlled degradation after disposal.

Agricultural Films & Mulching Materials: Applied for agricultural mulch films, seedling pots and water‑retaining materials. They can disintegrate and biodegrade in natural soil after usage, cutting manual recycling costs and mitigating soil pollution.

Disposable Hygiene & Protective Articles: Degradation‑modified PP non‑woven fabrics are made into disposable masks, protective suits, surgical gowns, diapers and sanitary napkins, solving the disposal difficulty of conventional hygiene‑product waste.

High‑performance Textiles: Degradation additives are compounded into sportswear, undergarments, carpets and other textile products to endow them with degradability while maintaining soft hand‑feel and comfortable wearing performance.

Automotive & Industrial Products: Manufactured into automotive interior‑exterior trim parts, electrical‑electronic housings and reusable degradable laboratory wares. Plastic components from end‑of‑life products become easier for environmental assimilation or up‑cycling recycling.

Properties: degradation‑modified Physical properties: customizable per customer requirements.

MOQ: 1 ton upon successful sample testing.
